Xian electric engineering to help Uzbekistan to develop wind energy

State joint stock company Uzbekenergo and China’s Xian electric engineering CO., LTD signed a memorandum of understanding for development of wind energy in Uzbekistan, head of Uzinformenergo Jasur Nurdinov said.
Pravda Vostoka newspaper said that the Chinese side is ready to carry out research on wind energy potential of Uzbekistan with development of feasibility study on construction of wind generators fleet.
The working groups are selecting optimal places for wind energy generators, Jasur Nurdinov underlined.
He said that the project on construction of pilot wind generator in Tashkent region is almost completed.
The construction of pilot wind energy in Yubileyniy Village of Bostanlik district of Tashkent region of Uzbekistan is under construction.
The capacity of the facility is 750 kilowatts. The height of the facility is 65 meters and the size of fans is 50 meters each. The diameter of the tower foundation is 3.6 meters. This is the first wind energy facility in Uzbekistan and Central Asia with such parameters.
In 2011, Uzbekenergo conducted a tender for construction of wind energy generator on “turn-key” basis and China’s XIAN ELECTRIC ENGINEERING won a tender and the agreement was signed. XINJIANG GOLD WIND SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY Co.LTD was selected for supply of wind energy generator facilities.
Uzbekenerogo is planning to create part of wind power facilties with evaluated cost of US$250 million. The capacity of the park will make up 100 megawatt, which will allow to produce 170 million kilowatt-hour of electricity.
