Uzbek organizations, people allocate 11.7bn soums for Kyrgyz refugees

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Legal entities and individuals of Uzbekistan directed humanitarian aid for refugees of Kyrgyzstan for 11.7 billion soums.
About 3.9 billion soums were transferred to special account of Andijan regional administration, which was opened to assist to refugees from Kyrgyzstan. Organizations and populations are continuing to transfer funds, UzA reported.
Organizations also handed over foods, medicaments, clothes, blankets and other goods for over 7.8 billion soums.
According to the agency, about 75,000-80,000 Kyrgyz citizens fled violence, which took place in the southern Kyrgyz Republic on 11-15 June 2010. The refugees were placed in Andijan, Namangan and Ferghana regions.
