Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An exchange of messages took place between President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
They highly appreciate the current high level of bilateral cooperation and the results of the summit of the Organization of Turkic States held in Samarkand.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said: “First of all, I would like to express my deep gratitude for the cordiality, warm welcome and special respect shown by you to the delegation of Turkmenistan during the summit of the Organization of Turkic States held in Samarkand.”
“The meeting with you that took place during it, filled with deep content, sincerity and trust, once again confirmed the inviolability of the age-old ties of brotherhood and good neighborliness between the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples. Together we have not only preserved these values, but also transferred them to the present day, making them the foundation of interstate relations,” the message said.
“It is deeply symbolic that it was in Samarkand - one of the cradles of the Turkic and the entire world civilization - that the commonality of fraternal peoples was confirmed, a creative impetus was given to further strengthening friendship and cooperation in all areas, the political and ideological foundations of the unity, cohesion and solidarity of the Turkic states in the current, very difficult conditions of global development,” the message added.
“I would like to especially note the atmosphere of hospitality, mutual respect and openness you created at the Summit. This largely determined its success, the achievement of the stated goals. The most important result of the Samarkand meeting was the confirmation by the participating states of their firm and unchanging commitment to the ideals of the Turkic world, its originality, the uniqueness of the historical path, the continuity of traditions and customs, loyalty to their origins, our common roots,” Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
“These concepts fully characterize our bilateral interstate relations. Your respect for Turkmenistan, its people, readiness to strengthen friendship and cooperation has earned you great prestige in our country.
Turkmens and Uzbeks are not just neighbors. We are brothers, linked by language, culture, religion, awareness of the common historical destiny in the past, present and future. Speaking of this, I would like to reiterate three ancient commandments:
- who comes to you - brings wealth and prosperity;
- guest - above the father;
- and on Judgment Day - with a neighbor.
They contain the true essence of our thoughts, beliefs and feelings for the Uzbek brothers, ideas about how to build life together, develop and interact with each other, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov added.
These thoughts did not leave me when I met you during your recent official visit to Turkmenistan, during a conversation in Samarkand on the sidelines of the Summit, at the ceremony when I received the Highest Order of the Turkic world from your hands. I know that I was awarded this high award with your fraternal support. Please accept our deep gratitude for this.
“I am grateful to you for everything you do to strengthen and develop Turkmen-Uzbek relations. During the period of your leadership in Uzbekistan, there has been a qualitative breakthrough in our cooperation in politics, economics, and culture,” the message of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
“A number of major joint infrastructure projects have been implemented, mechanisms for interaction in the foreign policy sphere, in the matter of maintaining and strengthening regional and global stability and security, have actually begun to work. We see and appreciate Uzbekistan's support for the neutrality and international initiatives of Turkmenistan. With good reason, I associate this with your name, your special care and participation in the development of bilateral ties, loyalty to friendship and cooperation between the two peoples and states,” Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said.
“Let me once again congratulate you on the successful holding of the summit of the Organization of Turkic States and assure you that Turkmenistan will always stand next to Uzbekistan and firmly follow the constructive goals laid down in the basis of our relations,” he noted.
“I wish you, dear Shavkat Miromonovich, good health, family happiness, well-being and further great success at the head of Uzbekistan, in your multifaceted state and political activities,” the message said.
“First of all, I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your sincere message following your recent visit to our country, as well as your warm words and good wishes addressed to Uzbekistan and me personally,” President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
“The personal participation of Your Excellency in the Summit of the Organization of Turkic States, held in Samarkand on November 11 this year, made an invaluable contribution to increasing the historical significance and effectiveness of the forum, clearly demonstrated the high level of friendly relations between the fraternal Uzbek and Turkmen peoples in the Turkic family,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
“As you noted in your message, the ancient and unique city of Samarkand has connected East and West for thousands of years, brought together Turkic and world civilizations, united different cultures and made a great contribution to the global progress with its rich treasury of culture and morality,” the message reads.
“Rewarding Your Excellency, who makes an invaluable practical contribution to the unity, cohesion and eternal friendship of our fraternal peoples, who have lived side by side in peace and harmony for centuries, as well as to the integration and close mutual cooperation of the Turkic states, increasing the reputation and authority of our Organization in the international arena , "The Highest Order of the Turkic World" was received by the peoples of all member states and observers with great joy and satisfaction,” he said.
“The solemn presentation of this highest award to Your Excellency is a symbol of boundless respect for you as a wise, far-sighted, truly selfless, experienced and patriotic statesman and public figure, as well as an outstanding personality who, with his valuable scientific and creative work, creates a rich spiritual educational legacy for future generations,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev added.
“Undoubtedly, this will bring Turkmenistan closer to the Turkic world and our Organization, and will serve to even wider participation of the Turkmen people in its activities. It is noteworthy that the results of the Summit created the basis for opening new horizons of multifaceted cooperation within our Organization, strengthening peace and mutual consent in the region and on the international arena, and also launched the stage of a new Renaissance of the Turkic civilization,” Uzbek President said.
“I am very glad that your message, imbued with deep respect for the Uzbek people and culture, preaches noble goals - to protect and increase the eternal bonds of friendship and cooperation between our peoples, which are united by common historical roots and spiritual values,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
“I would like to emphasize once again that in recent years, the scale of friendly ties with the Turkmen people, who are a truly fraternal and kindred people for the Uzbek nation, has been expanding, and our close good-neighbourly relations have risen to a high level of strategic partnership,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted.
“In your words, mutual unanimity, open and sincere dialogue between the two fraternal peoples will undoubtedly serve as a lesson and example for our citizens, especially for the younger generation,” he said.
“As confirmation of these good intentions, I saw a deep symbolic meaning when, together with President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, we planted a tree in the Tashkent park in the beautiful city of Ashgabat and shared the joy of the newlyweds who were celebrating their wedding, wished them happiness and gave our blessing,” the message said.
“I would like to note with sincere satisfaction that our mutually beneficial cooperation with Turkmenistan has reached an unprecedented level. Another clear confirmation of this is the Festival of Friendship between the Turkmen and Uzbek peoples, held in the city of Dashoguz,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.
“Taking this opportunity, I want to wish you, dear Gurbanguly Myalikgulyevich, good health, family happiness and great success in your responsible activities, and peace and constant progress to the friendly Turkmen people,” Shavkat Mirziyoyev underlined.
