Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A delegation of Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University (RNRMU) led by the Vice-Rector for Innovation, Director of the Tashkent branch of RNRMU Dmitry Shagin visited Uzbekistan in the mid-September.
During the visit, University staff met with scientists from the Institute of Chemistry of Plant Substances of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, one of the oldest scientific institutions in Asia.
The Institute specializes in the study of medicaments based on plant materials. Issues of bilateral cooperation and priority research topics were discussed at the round table. “We have many points of intersection with the institute. First of all, I was interested in working with natural biologically active compounds - as a promising basis for creating new drugs, - said Vadim Negrebetsky, Director of the Scientific Testing Center, Head of the Department of Chemistry of the Faculty of Medicine. - Also, the intersection point is the coumarin theme. During the visit, an agreement was reached on a visit to Uzbekistan in the near future by an employee of the Russian National Research Medical University in charge of this area in order to identify specific areas of joint scientific activity, conclude the necessary agreements and start research.”
The issues of expanding cooperation in the educational sphere were discussed by the delegates, the head of the Rossotrudnichestvo office in Uzbekistan, Mikhail Vojdaev.
Dean of the Department of Clinical Psychology and Social Work Vera Nikishina and Head of the Department of General Psychology and Developmental Psychology Vladislav Sotnikov held an open lecture at the Russian House in Tashkent. “A whole hall of compatriots came to meet with us. They came to listen to how psychological science lives now and were extremely interested in the continuation of the cycle of such meetings, - said Vladislav Sotnikov. “Everyone understands the demand for psychological knowledge, especially considering that we raised such topics as digital psychological security, the Internet environment and the psychology of security in the Internet environment.”
At a meeting with the staff of the Tashkent Scientific and Practical Center for Pediatric Hematology, Oncology and Clinical Immunology, the parties raised such issues as the development of Uzbek-Russian cooperation in the field of clinical and psychological support not only for patients, their relatives, but also for doctors.
“It became clear that the system for training clinical psychologists or medical psychologists in Uzbekistan has not been formed. At the same time, there is a demand for specialists in this field. Those institutions that we visited, among the topics for discussion, addressed with questions and requests to provide clinical and psychological assistance to patients. Actually, this was done more than once, - recalls Vera Nikishina. - The request for clinical and psychological support in intensive care, trauma, oncology departments has clearly been formed. Also, the topic of clinical and psychological support for the doctors themselves was raised more than once. That is, the topic of "doctor saving" was present in discussions and discussions at all levels. Our participation in this direction is seen as quite specific at the organizational, substantive, methodological and practical levels of implementation. The model of clinical and psychological care or medical care that exists in the Russian Federation can be adapted and implemented in the conditions of Uzbekistan.”
As part of the development and deepening of cooperation with medical and educational organizations of Uzbekistan, the delegation of RNRMU visited the Center for the Development of Professional Qualifications of Medical Workers of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Pediatrics. “After speaking to pediatricians who care for children from all over the republic, we were approached by medical workers and asked to consult a teenage child who is in intensive care and who needs psychological help,” added Vladislav Sotnikov. to benefit from working with a psychologist and to sort out complex cases in a team way, it certainly won me over.
The head of the delegation, Dmitry Shagin, during the visit, held a series of meetings with the leadership of the department for the treatment of gene dermatosis in Central Asia of the Children-Butterfly Foundation, the Charitable Foundation for Helping Children with Cancer and the Ezgu Amal Hospice, the Center for Advanced Technologies of the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and also visited the buildings branch of the Russian University, held a meeting with the head of the design and architectural bureau, at which they discussed the reconstruction of the main building, the construction of a hostel and an accreditation and simulation center. “A team of architects will arrive in Moscow in October to coordinate and sign the necessary documents, and by the end of the year construction will begin,” the director of the branch shared.
The visit to Uzbekistan ended with a visit to the Gubkin Academic Lyceum. This is the second institution in Uzbekistan that has become a partner school of RNRMU. A seminar on the topic "Chemistry of biologically active compounds" was held for high school students. Vadim Negrebetsky gave a lecture on modern innovative technologies and projects used in the field of medicine.
