Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to take measures to reduce poverty by at least 2 times by the end of 2026. This was stated by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, speaking at a session of the UzLiDeP party in Tashkent.
According to him, special attention will be paid to further support of entrepreneurship. “We will consistently continue systematic work to expand business opportunities, reduce the types of taxes and their burden,” he said.
“In 2020, we have reduced the value added tax rate from 20 to 15 percent. Now that everything is ready, we will reduce this tax rate from 15 to 12 percent from 2023,” he said.
Next year, the corporate property tax rate will be reduced from 2% to 1.5%. Another innovation - from 2023, a single tax on real estate will be introduced, combining property and land taxes of legal entities, the head of Uzbekistan noted.
The President said that at present, corporate income tax rates in such areas of business as banking, finance, telecommunications, and others, they will be reduced from the current 20% to 15% and will be the same for all entrepreneurs.
The Council of Entrepreneurs will be created on the basis of several existing structures that support entrepreneurship in districts and cities.
