Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Scientific developments of undergraduate doctors can increase the efficiency of practical healthcare, contribute to the quality of medical care for people. How to increase interest in scientific initiatives of young people and other interesting ideas were discussed by the participants of the training on the methodology "Improvement of processes".
The practical training was organized in June by the National Chamber of Innovative Healthcare of the Republic of Uzbekistan in partnership with Integral Global Health (IGH). The company is a division of the American Integral Global Consalting in Uzbekistan and operates in a number of areas. In particular, IGH provides technical support to the Institute of Virology of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan, as well as the Sanitary and Epidemiological Service to improve the quality of laboratory diagnostics control.
The partnership between the National Chamber and IGH started with a project in the field of public health, training in this direction under the guidance of international expert Dr. Brian Robie.
“During these three days, we have acquired new skills in organizing project management,” noted in an interview a participant of the training Salima Nazarova, associate professor of the Department of Public Health, Organization and Management of Healthcare of the Tashkent Medical Academy (TMA).
“Of course, there are a lot of project management methods, and they are different. The peculiarity of the new method is in 7 stages, of which it consists, and which we studied in detail during the training. As a result, our group has developed a project to improve the scientific research of masters in educational institutions and their active implementation in practical health care. The fact that some of the master’s research projects do not reach implementation, remains only on paper, is really a problematic issue. Universities, the medical community, and, as a result, patients are interested in that each such study of young people be considered and evaluated with the aim of introducing into practical health care. And the methodology of project management, mastered at this training, can help in this,” says S. Nazarova.
The Department of Public Health, Organization and Management of Healthcare of the TMA took part in this training almost in its entirety. Its specialists under the leadership of the head of the department, the chief pediatric infectious disease specialist of the Ministry of Health, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Gulnora Khudoykulova, are always ready to master new techniques. And this is very important, because they are the ones who teach students management in healthcare, that is, a management system for such a complex mechanism as modern healthcare.
“Today there are so many innovations in healthcare, innovations in management. The tools that we mastered during the training make it possible to systematize and streamline all this. At the same time, the application of the presented system is very diverse. With its help, you can solve the problems of primary health care, you can solve educational and disciplinary problems. We are very grateful for the organization of such a useful training and we plan to use new skills in our work,” Khudoykulova said in an interview.
Each stage in this program is scheduled in steps, which can allow even a person who does not have the slightest idea of what systematic administration or project management is, learn how to create these projects from scratch - defining the problem and step by step doing everything necessary for the set goals. This is the opinion of the head of the course "Public health" at Westminster International University in Tashkent (WIUT) Yevgenia Shalaeva, who also plans to apply the acquired skills, including in teaching.
Integral Global Health expert Dr. Brian Roby also gave a positive assessment of the training results. In his opinion, the participants were very interested in studying the algorithm of the “Process Improvement” methodology and are ready to help others master it, becoming trainers for the dissemination of knowledge who help solve issues, thereby improving domestic health care.
