Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The World Bank kept its forecast for Uzbekistan’s GDP growth in 2021 at 4.8%. The World Bank stated this in its June 2021 Global Economic Prospects.
According to forecasts of the bank’s experts, the growth of the economy of Uzbekistan in 2022 will be 5.5% and in 2023 - 5.8%.
The World Bank notes that the pace of growth may be affected by uncertainty related to the pace of global economic recovery and the success of the national campaign to vaccinate the population against COVID-19.
In general, in Central Asia, economic growth is expected to recover to 3.7% in 2021 and to 4.3% in 2022.
The bank’s experts note that this will be facilitated by the rise in prices for raw materials, the weakening of restrictions on the volume of production in large oil-producing countries, and an increase in foreign direct investment.
