The Ministry of Energy and Siemens Energy AG sign memorandum and roadmap
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 16 April 2021, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Simens Energy AG (Germany), as well as a Road Map for the implementation of joint projects.
The documents were signed by the Minister of Energy Alisher Sultanov and the President of Siemens Energy AG Christian Bruch, who arrived on a visit to Uzbekistan.
The signing of the Memorandum expresses the interest of the parties in studying the possibility of implementing joint projects, as well as the existing potential for expanding strategic partnership in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Cooperation between the parties includes a number of areas, including projects for the construction of new generating facilities, energy audit of production facilities in Uzbekistan with the preparation of proposals for the implementation of energy efficient technologies, training and education of personnel, hydrogen energy and others.
In particular, the "Road Map" includes projects for the introduction of cogeneration technologies in heating boiler houses based on PPP principles in the regions of the republic; construction of a new thermal power plant with a capacity of 1300-1600 MW; participation in the modernization of the Hajabad compressor station; creation of innovative training centers.
