Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 2 March, the third group of Russian language teachers will be sent to Uzbekistan to work in local schools. Thus, the total number of Russian specialists teaching the Russian language in Uzbekistan within the framework of the Klass! Joint humanitarian project of the Ministry of Education of Russia and the Ministry of Public Education of Uzbekistan will be 100 people. The goal of the project is to improve the quality of teaching Russian and teaching in Russian in the Republic of Uzbekistan. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Education of Russia.
The third group of teachers includes 12 practicing specialists, undergraduates and graduate students of pedagogical universities in Russia from Blagoveshchensk, Khabarovsk, Tomsk, Irkutsk, Maikop, Tyumen, Moscow and St. Petersburg. They will teach in schools in different cities and regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan, including those in which there is a rather acute problem of lack of teaching staff.
Before leaving for Uzbekistan, the teachers underwent comprehensive training at the Russian State Pedagogical University named after V.I. A.I. Herzen: they attended lectures on the methods of teaching Russian as a foreign language, organization of work in schools in Uzbekistan, and intercultural interaction.
The project has been implemented by the Ministry of Education of Russia jointly with the Ministry of Public Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Science, Art and Sport charitable foundation since 2020.
Systematic work to improve the level of Russian language proficiency and the quality of teaching in Russian abroad is carried out in several directions.
As part of the first stage of the project in 2020, Russian methodologists have already conducted a linguistic audit in 14 regions of the Republic of Uzbekistan, tested more than 4 thousand Uzbek teachers for knowledge of Russian as a foreign language, as well as possession of pedagogical competencies.
In 2021, Russian methodologists have continued, since February, to conduct testing for proficiency in pedagogical competencies and knowledge of Russian as a foreign language, provide methodological support to foreign colleagues and conduct advanced training seminars for local teachers of the Russian language.
In turn, Russian teachers develop lesson scripts and teaching materials for classes, teach in schools in Uzbekistan. From March to June, a new educational program for the study of the Russian language will be tested in them, and in September it will begin to be introduced in other schools in Uzbekistan.
