CEC of Uzbekistan hosts meeting with EU delegation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with heads of diplomatic missions of the European Union, accredited in Uzbekistan, on 17 November 2014, the CEC press service said.

Chairperson of the CEC Mirza-Ulugbek Abdusalomov briefed the guests on process of preparation to elections to the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis and regional, district and city Councils of People’s Deputies.

It was noted that all organizational-legal conditions for elections were created in Uzbekistan. The EU diplomats familiarized with changes to election legislation of Uzbekistan.

It was underlined that all parties and candidates will receive equal conditions during agitation campaign.

The EU delegation underlined importance of changes directed at further improving election practice in Uzbekistan.

The CEC of Uzbekistan invited observers from foreign states and international organizations to elections. It was said that some foreign countries and international organizations expressed wish to send their observers.
