Wine festival kicks off in the capital of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Wine Festival started in the capital of Uzbekistan on 21 November, which is held on the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The festival provides a professional platform for dialogue between domestic and foreign winemakers, representatives of science, education, distribution, other players in the alcohol market to demonstrate the best achievements in the field of viticulture and winemaking.

Its goal is to popularize Uzbek wine, increase the Uzbek wine culture and develop the wine industry in Uzbekistan. It is also an excellent occasion to visit Uzbekistan, its capital, to learn more about the country, its traditions, including winemaking, which has a unique ancient history.

Famous domestic and foreign wineries, oenologists, sommeliers and experts from the alcohol and wine sector, representatives of international organizations and the diplomatic corps accredited in Uzbekistan are taking part in it. These are guests and participants from Bulgaria, Hungary, Georgia, Italy, Russia, France, Japan and other countries.

Together with domestic specialists, foreign experts will take an active part in the work of the festival, within which a practical exchange of experience will be held in the direction of the perspective development of viticulture and winemaking.

The festival will last three days. Its rich program included a wide variety of events, including the holding of an international scientific and technical conference "Innovative technologies and modern trends in the development of viticulture and winemaking", presentations of production participants, wine products, equipment and technologies, the International Tasting Competition "Loza Vostoka", master classes and others.

All days of the festival there will be a wide range of exhibition expositions of wine products, as well as an oriental bazaar with various souvenir shops.

For the convenience of visitors and participants of the festival, representatives of the republic’s gastronomy will be located on the territory of the pavilion, these are well-known chains of restaurants of national and European cuisine, where visitors will be offered a wide selection of dishes.

The festival will be held cultural and entertainment and educational programs, sanctifying the cultural and historical traditions of the Uzbek people.

The key event will be the final day of the Festival, during which it is planned to hold an award ceremony for all participants, as well as the winners of the International Tasting Competition "Vine East" in 11 nominations of products processed from grapes.
