Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Turtkul district of Karakalpakstan, on 21 May, a Matiz driver attacked a traffic police inspector, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Karakalpakstan said.
A traffic police inspector stopped the Matiz driver and asked to show documents. However, the driver refused to cooperate and attacked the inspector, causing him bodily harm.
In connection with this incident, the driver was detained, and a criminal case was opened against him under Part 2 of Article 219 of the Criminal Code (Resistance to a representative of authority or a person performing a civic duty) and paragraph “d” of Part 3 of Article 277 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan (Hooliganism).
The investigation into this case continues.
