Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A protocol on the formation of an international multimodal corridor between Asia and Europe through the route “Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan – Iran – Türkiye” was signed in Tashkent.
The relevant ministries in the field of transport of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Türkiye signed the protocol of the multilateral meeting, which was held as part of the 12th meeting of the Ministers of Transport of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).
The parties agreed to organize cargo transportation from the countries of the Asia-Pacific region to the countries of the European Union, passing through the territories of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Türkiye.
In addition, the parties pledged to use competitive tariffs and create favorable conditions for the transportation of goods by railways of Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Türkiye.
These countries will also cooperate in developing measures to unify regulatory and technical standards related to the organization of cargo transportation along this route.
The signed protocol provides for strengthening the relationship and cooperation between participants in the transport route.
