Expert mission from Italy: supporting an inclusive transition to a green economy

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 30 January to 4 February 2023, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), experts from the Council for Agricultural Research and Economics (CREA) - the Italian national scientific -a research institution with expertise in agriculture, agro-industry, fisheries, forestry and economics are visiting Uzbekistan.

CREA is the leading organization providing comprehensive support for the creation and development of operational and innovation groups in Italy.

The visit is part of the EU-funded project “Supporting an Inclusive Transition to a Green Economy in the Agri-Food Sector and the Development of a Climate-Smart Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System in Uzbekistan” (EU-AGRIN).

Italian experts will assist in raising the level of knowledge and capacity of local institutions and institutions in the creation and functioning of innovation groups for the practical implementation of projects in the pilot regions of Uzbekistan.

These panels aim to showcase climate change mitigation and adaptation measures and accelerate the green transition in the agri-food sector.

During this visit, a training seminar was held for specialists from relevant organizations, departments, representatives of science, education, as well as farmers and other interested parties.

Meetings are also planned with representatives of ministries and departments, the private sector and the media.
