A delegation of Uzbekistan takes part in the meeting of the expert group on the creation of the CIS Human Rights Commission

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The regular fifth meeting of the expert group on the establishment of the Commission on Human Rights of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held on 27 January via videoconference.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and the CIS Executive Committee.

The key issue on the agenda of the meeting was the consideration by the experts of the CIS member states of the draft Regulations on the Commission on Human Rights of the Commonwealth of Independent States.

During the meeting, a number of proposals from countries were discussed in terms of determining the procedure for considering applications to the Commission, making decisions by the Commission and other issues regulating its activities.

Taking into account the discussion, the participants of the meeting decided to continue joint work on the preparation of the draft Regulations on the Commission on Human Rights of the Commonwealth of Independent States and hold the next meeting of the expert group in Minsk on 17 March.
