Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva, as part of her participation in the Third Eurasian Forum, which is taking place in St. Petersburg, met with the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko.
Valentina Matviyenko highly appreciated the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan under the leadership of the President of the country Shavkat Mirziyoyev, as well as the process of preparation for the upcoming political event - the presidential elections in Uzbekistan.
At the meeting, the parties discussed issues of strengthening Uzbek-Russian cooperation, which cover new areas of interaction.
“We are interested in bringing our relations to a higher level and are committed to deepening economic cooperation,” noted V Valentina Matviyenko, Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.
“Russia is a reliable and time-tested strategic partner of Uzbekistan, whose relations are actively developing in all directions,” said Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis. - The intensification of the dialogue between our parliamentarians, of course, will make a special contribution to the further deepening of the multifaceted and long-term cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia. Trade, economic and investment cooperation, as well as relations in the field of education, enhancing the role of women and other areas, are of great importance in our bilateral partnership.
During the meeting, the prospects of parliamentary cooperation were also discussed, as well as interaction at international platforms, in particular, within the framework of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, including the issues of holding the IPA Council, the Plenary and Youth meeting of the Assembly in the fall of 2022 in Uzbekistan.
It was noted that a reliable and regular dialogue between the two countries plays an important role in the development of multifaceted cooperation.
