This platform brought together practitioners, experts and policy makers to discuss the constraints and difficulties faced by women entrepreneurs and which prevent them from fully participating in the process of economic recovery and creating local and global economic ties.
Women entrepreneurship is known to be an important driver of economic growth and sustainable development. Businesswomen play a significant role in the development of the country, ensuring economic growth, creating jobs, contributing to innovation.

"Supporting and encouraging women's entrepreneurship, in particular small and medium-sized women-led businesses, will contribute to a more rapid recovery of economies after the pandemic, social inclusion, poverty reduction and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in general," said the Chairperson of the Senate of Uzbekistan.
The participants of the session were informed about the work done in Uzbekistan in the field of gender equality, the measures taken to fully support women. In particular, it was noted that Uzbekistan adopted the National Strategy on Gender Equality until 2030, and Women entrepreneurship centers are functioning to provide practical assistance in professional retraining and employment of women. Reference was also made to the recently established Public Trust Fund to Support Women with a charter capital of $96 million, which has launched a preferential lending program for projects of women entrepreneurs.
Head of the Uzbekistan’s delegation also told about the Central Asia Women Leaders Caucus, established in 2020 with the support of the UN. Narbaeva said that while chairing the Caucus in 2021, the Uzbek side seeks to turn this structure into an entirely new platform for consultations and exchanges aimed at developing all-round practical cooperation between women in the region, promoting the establishment and strengthening of business relations among them both in regional and bilateral formats.
The Chairperson of the Central Asia Women Leaders Caucus emphasized that the events held within the framework of this platform are yielding practical results. For instance, business women of the region have signed agreements and memorandums on cooperation worth over $20 million.
According to Narbaeva, a Discussion club for business women of Central Asia to be launched in November 2021 in Tashkent. For the first time in the history of the region, a platform is being created to exchange views, experiences and best practices in the development of women's entrepreneurship with the participation of business representatives from Central Asian countries and invited international experts, as well as to discuss topical issues of regional trade and investment attraction.
