Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On Thursday, 26 August, a fire broke out in the warehouses of a military unit in the south of Kazakhstan, which provoked a series of ammunition explosions.
According to the media in Kazakhstan, there were at least 6 explosions, which caused the evacuation of residents of adjacent villages.
The Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan speaks of 12 injured servicemen, 4 servicemen were killed.
The defense department clarified that part of the ammunition that was stored in the burning warehouse was delivered to it after a fire at a military arsenal in Arys in the summer of 2019.
According to official data, 90 people were injured, 28 injured remain in the hospital.
