Tashkent International University of Education and University of Portsmouth have established partnership
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent International University of Education (TIUE) and the University of Portsmouth Higher Education Corporation (UK) plan to develop cooperation in the field of higher education.
On 27 July 2021, with the support of the Ministry of Public Education and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the UK, the rector of the Tashkent International University of Education Sarvar Babakhodjaev and the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Portsmouth Higher Education Corporation Chris Chang signed a memorandum of understanding. The document signing ceremony was held in the format of a video conference.
Within the framework of the memorandum, the parties intend to develop joint educational programs in such areas as Pedagogy, including training teachers in STEAM areas, Information Technology, Business Management, and create joint programs for advanced training and retraining of teachers.
The University of Portsmouth separately noted its interest in establishing cooperation on student exchange in the future. Educational institutions are also planning to organize exchange of professors. One of the areas of cooperation will be the organization of joint research and the attraction of sponsorship for research. The universities intend to jointly hold seminars and conferences, as well as exchange experiences.
The signing ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Public Education of Uzbekistan Rustam Karimjanov, Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Great Britain Said Rustamov, Advisor to the Minister of Public Education Ulugbek Kasimhodjaev, representatives of the British Council R. Everit and J.Gulyamova, as well as employees of the Tashkent International University of Education and the University of Portsmouth.
During the videoconference, the parties discussed issues of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Great Britain in the field of education, prospects for cooperation between the Tashkent International University of Education and the University of Portsmouth.
