Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The number of small businesses per 1000 people was 16.7 units, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.
In January-June 2021, 53.0 thousand new small enterprises and microfirms (excluding dehkans and farms) were created again, which is 13.9% more than the same period in 2020
The largest number of small enterprises and microfirms was created in the field of trade – 18 725 units, industry – 11 104 units, agriculture, forestry and fisheries – 7 782 units, construction – 3 609 units, accommodation and food services – 3 341 units, transportation and storage – 1 317 units.
In terms of regions, the largest share falls on the city of Tashkent and, in general, the total number of newly created small enterprises and microfirms is 16.5%, in Kashkadarya region - 12.2%, Samarkand region - 9.0%, Tashkent region – 8.6%, Ferghana region - 8.5%, Namangan region - 6.4%, Surkhandarya region - 6.1%.
In January-June 2021, in the regional context, the largest indicator of the number of small businesses (per 1000 population, units) was in the city of Tashkent - 34.0 units, Navoi region - 22.3 units, Syrdarya region - 22.3 units, in Jizzakh region, this indicator reached 20.0 units, in Tashkent region - 18.4 units.
In January-June 2021, in the context of cities and districts, the largest indicator of the number of operating small businesses (per 1000 people of the population) was in Bektemir district71.9 units, Yakkasaray district-67.1 units, Mirabad district-51.8 units, Tamdy district-48.1 units, Karaulbazar district-47.6 units, Chilanzar district-45.5 units, Gulistan city- 44.4 units, Sergeli district-44.4 units.
In January-June 2021, the volume of exports of products (works, services) of small businesses amounted to 1 568.0 million US dollars, or 22.2% of its total volume.
In the regional context, the largest share of small businesses in the export of products (works, services) is noted in Syrdarya (79.6%), Surkhandarya (52.7%), Khorezm (49.7%), Namangan (49.1%), Ferghana (48.1%), Samarkand (44.6%) regions. In Navoi region (10.0%), the share of small businesses in the export of products (works, services) remains low.
In January-June 2021, the volume of imports of products (works, services) of small businesses amounted to US$5.37 billion, or 49.0% of its total volume.
In the regional context, the largest share of small business in the import of products (works, services) falls on Surkhandarya (92.2%), Jizzakh (82.0%), Ferghana (80.8%), Namangan (75.5%) regions and Republic of Karakalpakstan (59.7%). In Andijan region (15.7%), the share of small businesses in the import of products (works, services) remains low.
In January-June 2021, small businesses produced industrial products in the amount of 47 949.0 billion soums.
In the regional context, the largest volume of industrial production falls on the city of Tashkent (12.07 trillion soums), Tashkent (5.94 trillion soums), Ferghana (4.36 trillion soums), Samarkand (3.82 trillion soums) and Andijan (3.76 trillion soums) regions. In Surkhandarya region (1.12 trillion soums), the volume of industrial production remains low.
In January-June 2021, the share of small businesses in the total industrial production amounted to 24.0%.
In the regional context, the largest share of small business in the total production volume was 53.4% in Jizzakh region, 46.5% in Namangan, 42.4% in Surkhandarya, 40.9% in Syrdarya, 40.3% in Samarkand, and Ferghana - 39.6%, Bukhara - 35.1% regions, Tashkent city - 33.0%, Andijan - 24.3% and Kashkadarya - 22.7% regions. In Navoi region, the share of small business remains low - 6.1%.
In January-June 2021, the volume of retail trade turnover of small businesses amounted to 84.01 trillion soums, or 80.5% of its total volume. In January-June 2020, the growth rate reached 7.6%.
In the regional context, the largest volume of retail trade turnover was recorded in Tashkent city (15.85 trillion soums), Tashkent (8.54 trillion soums), Ferghana (7.56 trillion soums), Samarkand (6.98 trillion soums), Andijan (6.7 trillion soums) and Kashkadarya (6.2 trillion soums) regions.
In January-June 2021, the volume of construction work performed by small businesses amounted to 36.49 trillion soums, or 75.1% of their total volume. In January-June 2020, the growth rate reached 6.2%.
In the regional context, the largest volume of construction work performed was recorded in Tashkent city (8.34 trillion soums), Tashkent (3.15 trillion soums), Bukhara (2.85 trillion soums), Ferghana (2.83 trillion soums), Samarkand (2.57 trillion soums), Andijan (2.33 trillion soums) and Namangan (2.31 trillion soums) regions.
In January-June 2021, small businesses produced (rendered) services for 64.32 trillion soums (50.4% of their total volume). In January-June 2020, the growth rate reached 16.3%.
In the regional context, the largest volume of services was noted in Tashkent city (19.27 trillion soums), Tashkent (6.56 trillion soums), Ferghana (5.49 trillion soums), Samarkand (5.39 trillion soums), Andijan (4.31 trillion soums), Kashkadarya (4.07 trillion soums) and Bukhara (3.73 trillion soums) regions.
In January-June 2021, the share of small businesses in the total volume of cargo transportation amounted to 44.1%. In January-June 2020, the growth rate reached 4.5%.
In the period under review in 2021, the share of small businesses in the total freight turnover was 72.3%. In January-June 2020, the growth rate reached 3.5%.
In January-June 2021, the share of small businesses in the total volume of passenger transportation amounted to 92.9%. In January-June 2020, the growth rate reached 3.5%.
In January-June 2021, the share of small businesses in the total passenger turnover amounted to 94.9%. In January-June 2020, the growth rate was 2.2%.
In the second quarter of 2021, a sample survey of small businesses and microfirms was conducted. In general, 20009 small enterprises and microfirms took part in the survey, of which 6978 (34.9%) entities rated the economic situation as favorable, 11558 (57.8%) - as satisfactory, 1473 (7.3%) - as unsatisfactory
By types of economic activity, the share of small enterprises and microfirms participating in the sample survey was 6.5 % (1 294 units) in agriculture, forestry and fisheries, 17.7 % (3 539 units) in industry, 8.4 % (1 681 units) in construction, 38.2 % (7 644 units) in trade, 29.2% (5 851 units) in the service sector.
The regions with the largest number of small enterprises and microfirms participating in the sample survey are Tashkent city (4183 units), Samarkand (1876 units), Tashkent (1828 units), Ferghana (1648 units), and Andijan (1337 units) regions.
In the second quarter of 2021, according to the results of the survey, the largest share of small enterprises and microfirms that are confident in a favorable economic situation in the current period falls on construction enterprises - 37.7%, trade - 36.1%, in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 35.2%.
The largest share of enterprises that rated the economic situation as satisfactory was recorded in the service sector - 60.0%, industry - 58.9%, trade - 57.4%. In the second quarter of 2021, the largest share of small businesses and microfirms that rated the prospects for changes in the next three months as favorable was in agriculture, forestry and fisheries - 50.2%, construction - 47.5%, trade - 46.3%.
