Uzbekistan and France work to expand multifaceted partnership

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov held a meeting with Charge d’Affaires of the French Republic in the Republic of Uzbekistan Brice Roquefeuil.
During the meeting, the current state of multifaceted Uzbek-French cooperation, the necessary measures to expand it, as well as issues related to the implementation of joint projects and initiatives were considered.
At the meeting, issues of preparation for the 8th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the French Republic, which will be held on 11 May in Tashkent, were discussed.
The parties considered the agenda of the event, including a wide range of issues of interaction in the spheres of industry, energy, housing and communal services, tourism, transport, agriculture and other areas. A solid package of bilateral documents has been formed, the signing of which will ensure the implementation of large industrial and social projects.
It was noted that within the framework of the IGC, an Uzbek-French business forum is planned to be organized jointly with the Movement of French Entrepreneurs "MEDEF International", in which more than 50 representatives of large French companies and banks, as well as relevant ministries, departments and private companies of Uzbekistan are expected to participate.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached on establishing close interaction to intensify bilateral partnership and filling the agenda of upcoming events with practical content.
