Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - 2021 will be a breakthrough year in relations between Uzbekistan and China. This was announced during the meeting of the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Le Yucheng, which took place on 24 February at the Embassy of our country in Beijing, Dunyo news agency reported.
The parties exchanged views on key issues of the development of Uzbek-Chinese relations, reaffirmed their mutual readiness to further strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership based on the principles of mutual trust, respect, benefit and consideration of the interests of the two countries.
It was emphasized that the telephone talks held in 2020 between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping gave a new impetus and dynamics to the development of multifaceted cooperation between the two countries in the context of a pandemic.
During the conversation, it was stated that, despite the pandemic, in 2020, Uzbekistan and China actively expanded mutual trade, as well as intensified interaction in the investment sphere. Interregional cooperation and cultural and humanitarian exchanges were strengthened, especially in the field of medicine and healthcare.
Following the talks, the parties confirmed their readiness to make joint practical efforts to further strengthen contacts at the highest and high level, designed to help ensure that 2021 becomes a breakthrough year in the history of Uzbek-Chinese relations.
The priority of the practical implementation of the agreements reached between the heads of the two states was emphasized.
