Uzbekistan plans to construct a new ski resort
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan plans to create an international all-season ski resort "Zaamin". The resort is expected to be built in Jizzakh region.
The State Committee for Tourism Development has published a draft presidential decree on the establishment of a resort.
In accordance with the document, within the framework of the project, hotel complexes, cultural and recreational, shopping and entertainment and other objects of tourist importance will be built in Zaamin district.
The Turkish company IDEALIST has developed a draft master plan for a free tourist zone in Zaamin region.
In the resort area, stations for electric vehicles with a capacity of at least 11 kW, helicopter grounds, extreme sports facilities, including ziplines, selfie zones, points of sale of souvenirs and food products will be created.
It is expected that the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan will provide a loan in the amount of US$40 million to create the necessary infrastructure, including a guest information center, water and electricity supply systems, etc.
The international seasonal resort "Plateau Suffa 2400" and the tourist complex "Uriklisay" will be built in the resort area.
The document notes that the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan will allocate $ 60 million to finance investment projects to create tourism infrastructure.
The document proposes to resume the movement of electrified trains in the directions Tashkent-Dashtabad-Tashkent and Samarkand-Dashtabad-Samarkand by 1 June 2020.
