Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In mid-September, the premiere of the film "Hamid and Zulfiya" produced by the Uzbek company BWG Production, directed by Ruslan Saliev, was presented in Uzbekistan.
More recently, it became known that the film, which tells about the creativity and love of two great poets of Uzbekistan, won the Best Biographical Documentary nomination at The Silk Road Film Awards Cannes in Cannes, and also received the Honorable Mention Documentary award of the Turkish Istanbul Film Awards.
The Silk Road Film Awards Cannes is a prestigious film festival, which is open to participants from all over the world. The results are summed up monthly. The film "Hamid and Zulfiya" became the winner in the Best Biographical Documentary nomination (the best documentary and biographical film).
International Istanbul Film Festival, in which films on the topic of art, as well as artistic or literary adaptations, can take part, "Hamid and Zulfiya" won the Honorable Mention Documentary - Feature Film nomination.
“For me and our company, BWG Production is a great victory. You feel an incredible sense of pride when among the participating countries, such as the USA, Canada, Italy or France, you see the inscription “Uzbekistan” dear to your heart and the badge of the winner in a category significant for documentary filmmaking. Festivals are a great opportunity to announce our art to the world, tell the stories of our people through the prism of great poetry and love. I am glad that we live in an era when independent cinema can be integrated into the “world” and finds a response in the hearts of people, regardless of territorial, mental and other boundaries,” the film director Ruslan Saliev commented.
