Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan maintain high rates of development of trade and economic cooperation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 November 2020, in the format of a video conference, negotiations were held between the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Sklyar with the participation of the heads of ministries and departments of two countries.
The parties discussed the current agenda of bilateral cooperation, the implementation of the previously reached agreements, as well as the prospects for expanding partnership in the field of agriculture and industrial cooperation.
The issues of the implementation of the "Road Map" on expanding and deepening cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan, agreed in November this year in Tashkent and including 22 projects of industrial cooperation in the areas of the agro-industrial complex, agricultural engineering, light, chemical and pharmaceutical industry, as well as the production of building materials. The parties determined the mechanisms of operational interaction between the relevant ministries, departments and entrepreneurs of the two countries to promote the approved events and projects.
Particular attention was paid to measures to establish cooperation between agro-industrial enterprises of the two countries in the cultivation of certain types of crops, the creation of intensive gardens and joint livestock complexes. The parties agreed to develop a program to create joint wholesale distribution centers to organize the export of fruits and vegetables to promising markets.
In this context, further actions were discussed to accelerate the approval of the draft Agreement between the Governments of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan on cooperation in the field of technical regulation, metrology and product conformity assessment.
The prospects for cooperation in the field of joint scientific developments, organizing contacts at the level of research institutes of the two countries with the aim of exchanging experience and accelerating the development of seed production, as well as obtaining highly productive varieties of grain and oil crops, are considered separately.
As a result of the negotiations, the parties agreed to continue the practice of regular videoconferences in order to track progress in the implementation of the agreements reached, promptly resolve emerging issues and work out new initiatives and areas of multifaceted bilateral partnership.
