Seven high-speed bus lines to be launched in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Seven bus rapid transit (BRT) lines are planned to be launched in the capital of Uzbekistan. The project was presented to the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on 23 November.
The President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with the concept of development of the road and transport infrastructure of Tashkent on 23 November.
Acting Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov in an interview with Uzbekistan 24 TV channel said that seven BRT lines will cover 30% of the capital.
According to him, the project is being developed with the participation of Kalyon Ulaştırma (Turkey). The bus service interval will be 4 minutes.
Makhkamov noted that the BRT bus lines will be connected to the metro. One of the lines will connect the Hippodrome with the old town.
