Quarantine regime in Navoi strengthened

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In recent days, along with several regions of the country, the number of infected among the population has also increased in Navoi region.
The Ministry of Health sent a special group of medical scientists, epidemiologists, infectious disease specialists, ralaryngologists, resuscitators, pulmonologists, surgeons, and laboratory doctors to the region.
Currently, 119 citizens of the region have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection.
In Navoi region, the disease spreads mainly through five foci. In particular, the first major outbreak was recorded in the city of Zarafshan, the second and third outbreaks - in Khatyrchi district, the fourth outbreak - in Kanimekh district and the fifth outbreak - in Tomdy district.
In order to further strengthen quarantine rules in the region, sequential measures are being taken with employees of the State Security Service, the National Guard, internal affairs bodies, the prosecutor’s office to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection, treat patients and more effectively establish medical supervision of quarantined citizens.
The city of Zarafshan, which is the main focus of coronavirus infection, has entered the category of “red” zone. On 26 May, about 300 citizens in contact with patients (31 people) were quarantined.
Starting from 8 May, while maintaining gradually strengthened quarantine measures in 11 districts of the city of Zarafshan, a restriction on the movement of vehicles was established. In addition, quarantine measures were strengthened in 6 makhallas of Khatirchi district.
