Citizens of Uzbekistan in Russia receive assistance in a difficult situation in the light of the pandemic

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan spoke about the support provided by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Russia to fellow citizens within the framework of the May project, who found themselves in a difficult situation in the light of the pandemic.
So, from 15 to 22 May, another 584 citizens of Uzbekistan, who are in all federal districts of Russia, received financial assistance. During the week, 3 million 669 thousand 806 rubles were allocated.
Among them are:
- 5 citizens with disabilities;
- 32 women with dependent children under 2 years old or with a gestational age of more than 7 months;
- 13 compatriots who have confirmed coronavirus infection COVID-19;
- 493 full-time students in Russian higher education institutions.
The Consulate General of Uzbekistan in the city of St. Petersburg paid for accommodation in a hostel of 41 compatriots.
In general, the total amount of financial assistance provided to citizens of Uzbekistan in Russia from the beginning of the May campaign (from 14 to 22 May 2020) made up 4 million 890 thousand 766 rubles, and the number of recipients reached 786.
At the same time, the Embassy clarified the situation with alleged failures in the work of the portal “mech.rf”. The diplomatic mission of our country announced the establishment of a limit of 1 thousand calls per day. This was done to establish more efficient work with incoming calls and even distribution of financial resources, as well as taking into account the need for stable functioning of the Mehr.Rf portal.
So, thousands of Uzbek students studying at the Russian Technological University named after Razumovsky, the National Research Technological University “MISiS”, the Russian State University of Tourism and Service, the Moscow Aviation Institute, the Moscow State Medical and Dental University named after I. Evdokimov, the Russian University of Transport, Russian State University of Oil and Gas, Russian University of Friendship of Peoples, National Research University Higher School of Economics, food kits were handed over.
