Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - As previously reported, humanitarian assistance was sent to neighboring Kyrgyzstan on behalf of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The list of goods included food products and medical supplies. Representatives of the public and expert circles of the fraternal republic welcome the support that our country provided to the friendly Kyrgyz people in the current difficult situation in connection with the spread of coronavirus throughout the world, Dunyo correspondent reports.
So, the co-chairman of the board of the Council on Foreign Relations and Security of Kyrgyzstan Edil Osmonbetov, praising the assistance of Uzbekistan in such a difficult situation, noted the following:
- This noble step indicates that today we see a completely different Central Asia, which seeks regional cooperation, integration and improving mutual relations. This atmosphere of trust and understanding is more important than ever today, in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. Uzbekistan, not in words but in deeds, is striving by common efforts to overcome this global problem.
Today we are once again convinced that Kyrgyz-Uzbek relations have reached a new level of trust and mutual understanding. I believe that the assistance provided by Uzbekistan is a great contribution to the further development of our cooperation, the strengthening of good neighborly and friendly relations.
Expert Almaz Tajibay, in turn, emphasized that Uzbekistan has once again demonstrated its commitment to strengthening friendship and good neighborliness between the two countries.
“Uzbekistan was the first Central Asian country to provide humanitarian assistance to Kyrgyzstan at the right time in the fight against coronavirus,” he said. - Taking this opportunity, on behalf of the Council on Foreign Relations and Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, I express deep gratitude to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Government of Uzbekistan and the Uzbek people for the gesture of goodwill and true friendship, demonstrated in such a difficult time for everyone.
Bakyt Baketaev, a political scientist and public figure, expressed confidence that the fraternal bonds of friendship between the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan are unbreakable.
“Uzbekistan, the centuries-old neighbor of Kyrgyzstan, extended a hand of friendship, reaffirming its loyalty and commitment to the course of rapprochement and deepening of our bilateral mutually beneficial cooperation. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev shows a high level of humanism and eastern wisdom.
The Chairman of the Uzbek National Cultural Center of Kyrgyzstan, Bakhtiyar Kadyrov, said that Uzbekistan’s direction of 17 wagons with humanitarian cargo was received in Kyrgyzstan with great gratitude and appreciation.
“The Government of the Kyrgyz Republic is taking full-scale measures to neutralize the pandemic and provide all-round support to the country’s population,” he said. “In this situation, Uzbekistan became the first friendly country to send a train of humanitarian aid to neighbors in the form of 1,000 tons of flour, food, disposable protective overalls, respirators, medical gloves, goggles, pyrometers and test systems for the diagnosis of COVID-19, which are necessary for early diagnosis, prevention and timely suppression of the spread of this terrible infection.
