Uzbekistan joins Worldskills International

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - According to the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Uzbekistan has become the 83rd member of the WorldSkills International (WSI).
The WorldSkills Uzbekistan national operator will be the Association for the Development and Promotion of Workers Occupations, established by the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations in conjunction with a number of departments.
Participation in the movement’s activities opens up new opportunities and prospects for our country, in particular, to ensure the level of youth employment, improve professional skills in accordance with the demand on the labor market, and provide decent work based on the wishes and needs of youth.
The movement calls its mission to attract attention to working professions and create conditions for the development of high professional standards. Once every two years, the WorldSkills Championship of Workers’ Occupations takes place. This is currently the largest competition of its kind, which is also called the "Olympics for the hands."
WorldSkills International is an international non-profit movement aimed at increasing the prestige of working professions, status and standards of professional training around the world. His main activity is the organization and conduct of professional competitions at various levels for young people.
