Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan Alisher Sultanov held talks with the Russian delegation led by Chairman of the Board of Directors of the RENOVA Group of Companies, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Skolkovo Fund Viktor Vekselberg. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy.
The delegation also included the heads of the Hevel group of companies, ComplexProm JSC, ROTEK JSC, Orgsintez Group JSC, Khimprom PJSC, Tsifra LLC.
During the negotiations, potential cooperation opportunities were discussed in such areas as: the creation of a national oil and gas center to increase the efficiency of hydrocarbon development on the basis of the Digital Field platform, cooperation in the field of renewable energy and alternative energy in Uzbekistan, cooperation in the supply of generating equipment.
In the field of traditional generation, the RENOVA group of companies is the largest private electricity producer in Russia, having 14 GW of installed capacity and operating in 20 regions of the Russian Federation. This company went through the entire stage of transformation of the electric power industry in Russia and the formation of the market, in connection with which the Russian side expressed interest in sharing experience, as well as participating in projects in Uzbekistan, as well as participating in ongoing tenders for the construction of solar power plants, while proposing to consider the possibility organization of joint production of solar panels in Uzbekistan with the possibility of their further use in projects implemented in the Republic.
The Ministry of Energy provided information on the ongoing reforms in the country’s energy sector and a concept for the development of the industry, prepared jointly with international consultants, and noted an interest in the deep processing of natural gas and diversification of production with higher value-added products, in particular, in organizing the production of polymer and synthetic fibers for the textile industry.
The Russian side suggested organizing an on-site familiarization with their technologies and processes in the Russian Federation, in connection with which it was agreed to create a joint working group and organize a visit to the facilities to familiarize and study the experience of Russian companies in all of the above areas.
