Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 16 January is a significant date in the history of Uzbek-Slovenian relations. On this day in 1995, diplomatic relations were established between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Slovenia.
Over the past 25 years of cooperation, political dialogue, trade and economic relations, and cultural ties have been consistently developed.
On 15-17 March 2005 the first bilateral official visit was held at the highest level - the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan visited Slovenia. In October 2003 and February 2005, our country was visited by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Slovenia.
Today, the two countries continue to effectively develop interparliamentary relations, interact within the framework of international organizations, and seek to increase mutual trade volumes, which for the 11 months of 2019 amounted to US$38 million.
The legal framework for cooperation today is represented by five documents, three of which are intergovernmental and two are interdepartmental in nature.
In the future - the signing of documents relating to the expansion of economic ties and cooperation in the field of tourism.
