Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) –– The delegation of Uzbekistan, led by Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov, held a series of meetings with heads of Japanese educational institutions and organizations as part of their stay in Tokyo.
At the meeting with K. Nagato, the president of the Japan Association of National Universities and Tsukuba University, the sides discussed trends in improving the education system in Uzbekistan - the Japanese side welcomed the systematization of this area, appreciating the advantages of the “Concept for the Development of the Higher Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030” adopted in October this year .
In this vein, promising areas for cooperation between educational organizations and institutions of the two countries were considered to ensure the growing demand for skilled labor in Uzbekistan in various fields of industry and services.
Opportunities for creating Japanese research centers at Uzbek universities were discussed using the example of the Central Asian Research Center of Tsukuba University at the Tashkent State Institute of Oriental Studies, as well as the implementation of joint educational programs, including student exchange.
During a conversation with the President and CEO of Digital Knowledge Co., Ltd. prerequisites for the introduction of modern Japanese technologies and teaching methods in the system of professional and higher education in Uzbekistan were examined - various schemes for their use were discussed, including a digital training format involving Japanese teachers and innovative software developments. In this vein, the parties discussed the prospects of creating a joint Japanese Digital University in Tashkent. Separately, the question of creating distance learning programs in conjunction with a number of Japanese universities was raised.
Following the meetings, further practical actions were discussed for the successful implementation of the initiatives considered: the goal was to complete the elaboration of detailed partnership concepts in each of the areas discussed with the prospect of signing the relevant agreements during a visit to Japan at the highest level in December of this year.
