A draft Concept for the development of information exchange in the field of security and law and order in the fight against crime finalized

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 20-21 November 2019, an additional meeting of an expert group was held at the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk to agree on a draft Concept for the development of information exchange between the competent authorities of the CIS member states and the CIS bodies in the field of security and law and order in matters of the fight against crime, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

The meeting was attended by plenipotentiaries and experts of Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, as well as the Council of Commanders of the Border Troops, the Council of Ministers of the Interior of the CIS member states, the Council of Heads of Prison Services of the CIS Member States, the Interstate Council for the fight against corruption, the Office for the Coordination of the Fight against Organized Crime and Other Dangerous Crimes on the Territory of the CIS Member States, the Committee of Heads of Rights enforcement departments of State Council of heads of customs services - the CIS member states and members of the CIS Executive Committee.

After a comprehensive discussion of the proposals received, the meeting participants finalized and adopted as a basis the draft Concepts and Decisions of the Council of CIS Heads of State on this issue.

It was decided to forward the materials of the additional meeting of the expert group to the countries of the Commonwealth and the bodies of CIS industry cooperation in the field of security and law and order to coordinate draft documents.

The next meeting of the expert group is scheduled to be held in the first decade of February 2020 in the CIS Executive Committee in Minsk.

The draft Concept of information exchange between the competent authorities of the CIS member states and the CIS bodies in the field of security and law and order in the fight against crime has been developed with the aim of improving the organization of interstate exchange of information in the field of security and law and order in the territory of the Commonwealth.

The preparation of the document is due to the need for further systematic and coordinated development of interaction aimed at improving the legal framework and creating effective organizational mechanisms that unify the procedure for a coordinated exchange of information in the field of combating cross-border crime in all forms of its manifestation.

The concept is a set of views on the modernized system of information exchange between the competent authorities of the participating states and the CIS bodies in the field of security and law and order in the fight against crime, its structure, basic elements and functional orientation.

The Concept updates the algorithm for systemic, coordinated and coordinated interaction on information exchange, including its order and key principles, as well as the main directions and basic rules of the mechanisms for organizing and implementing interstate exchange of information.
