Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 12 November 2019, a delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Dilshod Akhatov, took part in the Paris Peace Forum.
The Forum, held for the second time, aims to create a solid platform for discussing the complex problems of world order and defending the principle of multilateralism.
The second Paris Peace Forum was attended by over 6 thousand representatives of foreign countries and international organizations, including 27 heads of state and government, including the presidents of Latvia, Mali, Serbia, Tajikistan, Estonia, the prime ministers of Austria, Andorra, Belgium, Tunisia, the foreign ministers of Germany, India, the Netherlands, Russia, Sweden, as well as the leaders of the UN, OSCE, EU, ICRC, ILO, WTO and EBRD.
French President Emmanuel Macron in his speech emphasized that the Paris Peace Forum continues to play a mobilizing role in countering the constantly arising complex challenges of the formation of the modern international order and the promotion of a multipolar world.
The head of the French state mentioned the successful experience in developing cooperation in a number of Asian subregions, in particular in Central Asia.
Within the framework of the forum, a ceremony was held by the heads of delegations to transfer funds to the fund of the La Vilette library, created at the Paris Forum, on the theme of the efforts of the participating countries in establishing peace. The Uzbek delegation provided the collection "In the name of peace, stability and progress" in English and Russian, dedicated to the results of the Tashkent international high-level conference on Afghanistan, which was held in March 2018.
