Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Prosecutor General’s Office, the working body of the Republican Interdepartmental Commission on Combating Corruption, jointly with the UN Development Program “Combating Corruption through Effective, Accountable, and Transparent Governance Institutions in Uzbekistan” project, has begun work on a project to introduce an anti-corruption “control system” (Compliance control) in the joint-stock companies Uzkimyosanoat and Uzbekneftegaz.
This project is being implemented jointly with experts from the international audit company KPMG (Italy), which is one of the leading international organizations.
During the presentation, KPMG experts noted that the implementation of this project with the active support of international experts will effectively introduce international anti-corruption standards and practices in the company, as well as increase the transparency of companies, the level of corporate governance and investment attractiveness.
In addition, it was noted that the experience gained in these societies for the effective implementation of anti-corruption measures can be used to formulate a general direction for combating corruption in organizations with a state share in the authorized capital, as well as in business entities.
