Implementation of program "Every family is an entrepreneur” discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Tashkent city administration hosted an event dedicated to the implementation of the program “Every family is an entrepreneur”.
From the beginning of this year, the first deputy khokim of the city of Tashkent on economics and entrepreneurship Khotamjon Shakirov, representatives of the Central Bank, the Tashkent City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Tashkent City Council of the Mahalla Foundation, media as well as entrepreneurs.
Within the framework of this program, a Special Headquarters has been established, as well as district Working Groups consisting of senior officials of the respective organizations. A census was carried out in 508 makhallas, according to the results of which unoccupied and needing social protection families were identified, and these groups were entrusted with the task of attracting them to entrepreneurial activity.
The working group revised the list of 70 suppliers of mini-technologies for production, sewing machines, equipment used in domestic services and other devices for people who need to get a loan under the program.
To date, a census of 611 thousand houses and apartments has been carried out, according to the results of which 1,746 houses have been identified whose residents have expressed a desire to do business.
Under the program, preferential loans will be allocated to the population and business entities that have expressed a desire to engage in family business or other specific labor activities aimed at generating income and expanding their activity on the conditions of 8 percent per annum with a grace period of 3-6 months, for a period not exceeding 3- x years.
It should be noted separately that from May 2 to September 2019, Tashkent city branches of commercial banks participating in the program allocated 183.7 billion soums for 2,497 initiative persons.
As of 1 October, loans were granted to 3309 individuals in the amount of 238.3 billion soums and the implementation of the program amounted to 90.0 percent in relation to the forecast indicators.
The forecast indicator for the city of Tashkent is determined in the amount of 270.0 billion soums.
Currently, within the framework of the program, additional credit funds are expected to be allocated in the amount of 26.5 billion soums for those who are interested in this.
462 projects for which loans were allocated accounted for the low-income and in need of social protection family and their total amount amounted to 3.5 billion soums.
Families mainly express interest in such areas of business as small production, national sweets, confectionery, sewing and ateliers, beauty salons, hairdressers, handicrafts and the main demand for loans are these areas.
