Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 3 October 2019, a delegation led by the Chairman of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko, accompanied by the Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Tanzila Narbaeva, made an official visit to Uzbekistan and got acquainted with the sights of Bukhara.
Every inch of Bukhara breathes history, monuments of the past testify to the great creative genius and spiritual potential of our ancestors.
Members of the delegation visited the Khoja Bakhovuddin Naqshbandi Memorial Complex. It was noted that the complex is the most important Muslim shrine. It is known that Naqshbandi was the spiritual mentor of the great commander and statesman Amir Temur. He urged people to be humble, rejected luxury.
Then the guests visited the historical center of Bukhara, which includes world-famous architectural monuments with a long history. In 1993, this part of Bukhara was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The object of the visit was the Lyabi-House ensemble - one of the central squares of Bukhara, where Nodir Devon-Begi Madrasahs and Khanaks are grouped around a large artificial reservoir, and Kukeldash Madrasah is also located nearby.
Further, the route followed to the complex Poyi Kalon, which is distinguished by unique architectural solutions and special charm. It was emphasized that during the years of independence in Uzbekistan, large-scale work was carried out to revive national cultural and spiritual values, historical monuments. So, in connection with the 2500th anniversary of Bukhara, this complex was completely reconstructed.
The architectural ensemble, including such architectural monuments as Masjidi Kalon, Minorai Kalon and Mir Arab Madrasah, made a great impression on the guests who were delighted with the genius of our ancestors who erected such a magnificent monument.
Chairman of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko expressed satisfaction with her visit to the ancient and ever-young city of Bukhara. It was noted that the historical monuments of the city are a vivid example of the rich cultural heritage of the Uzbek people, national architectural art.
Valentina Matvienko, Chairman of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, gave an interview to media representatives.
In particular, she noted that she was satisfied with the results of the visit, negotiations were also held with members of the parliament of Uzbekistan, and bilateral agreements were reached.
“I am impressed with the positive changes taking place in Uzbekistan over the past three years. Under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, an open democratic state is being built, very serious reforms are being carried out aimed at improving the socio-economic development of the country,” the distinguished guest said.
On the same day, the delegation of the Russian Federation departed for Moscow. With this, the official visit of the Russian delegation to Uzbekistan led by the Chairman of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko ended.
