Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 2 October, the Tashkent International Book Fair “TASHKENT BOOK FEST”, organized by the Agency for Information and Mass Communications under the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Uzbekistan, began its work at the Uzexpocenter NEC.
The event will be held on 2–4 October at the Uzexpocenter National Exhibition Complex. This is the first such a large-scale forum in the history of the book industry, held in Uzbekistan.
Visitors will have a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the book products of foreign and domestic publishers, take part in the presentation of book novelties and in meetings with foreign and domestic authors.
The event will include creative conversations with writers, poets, illustrators. Thematic seminars, master classes and trainings will be organized, as well as many different events and book competitions.
Within the framework of the events of the first International Book Fair “Tashkent Book Fest - 2019”, the Information and Communications Agency jointly with the company Novda Edutainment presented the audio novel “O'tgan kunlar” (“Past Days”) by the Uzbek writer Abdullah Kadiri.
“For more than a century, there have been serious discussions about the work of this writer. Therefore, it was decided to create an audio novel based on the most famous work of Kadiri. Although “Past Days” was previously voiced, but in the version we presented, the text is given without cuts and edits, that is, as the author of the book wrote it,” said representatives of Novda Edutainment, which develops and produces media content and printed products for children.
The International Book Fair is an excellent platform for the exchange of experience and ideas between industry professionals from different countries and advanced training for industry professionals.
