Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8 August 2019, an acting director-general of Uzbekistan Pochtasi Alisher Fayzullaev held a meeting with a delegation of PwC headed by PwC advisory partner in Central, Eastern Europe and the CIS countries Michal Mazur.
At the beginning of the conversation, acting director-general of Uzbekistan Pochtasi briefly informed about the activities of the Uzbekistan Post and the difficulties that it encountered at the present stage.
In this regard, and based on the positive experience of PwC in cooperation with postal operators from different countries of the world, it is expressed its readiness to consider the company’s proposals for transforming the postal infrastructure of Uzbekistan.
In turn, M. Mazur noted that he has been a PwC postal advisory partner for a long time. Directly participated in the development of strategic projects to modernize and optimize the postal services of many countries.
The presentation organized during the meeting clearly presented the results of PwC’s work on the implementation of various projects with postal operators in Russia and Poland. In particular, the modernization of the Russian postal service, which, according to M. Mazur, was on the verge of bankruptcy several years ago, thanks to the projects developed by PwC, helped restore its status of a profitable organization
Over the past 10 years, PwC has been supporting the transformation of the Polish postal service. The most important and effective projects are related to the establishment of e-commerce, not only in goods, but also in financial services packages, modernization of the logistics infrastructure of the Polish Post and several others.
As a result, the Polish Post in the UPU ranking today occupies 6th place in the world and 1 place in Europe. According to M. Mazur, Poland and Uzbekistan have much in common: the same area, population, etc., and for this reason, projects implemented in Poland may be relevant for the Uzbekistan Post. But decisions will be made only after a thorough study of the situation in the postal market and taking into account the views of Uzbek specialists.
In conclusion, the acting Director General of Uzbekistan Pochtasi thanked PwC representatives for the information that will be studied in detail, and expressed hope for mutual cooperation in the development of road maps for the further development of Uzbekistan Post.
