Contactless payment launched in Tashkent metro as experiment

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The national interbank processing center (NIPC) has launched a pilot project on contactless payment of metro fare with HUMO cards. Contactless fare payment was launched by the joint efforts of the NIPC, the Tashkent metro and the National Bank of Uzbekistan.
Turnstile for contactless fare payment with a HUMO banking card installed at the metro station "Halqlar Dostligi" in the Chilanzar line. Now it works in experimental mode. To make a payment in this way, the users can through the turnstile with a special sign: “Payment card HUMO. HUMO kartasi bilan to’lang” by attaching the card to the reader.
"We expect that this positive experience by the end of August will allow us to launch contactless payment at all stations of the Tashkent metro. In future plans – the possibility of contactless payment to users of cards of international payment systems", – said the Director of the NIPC Sukhratbek Kurbanov.
