Schoolchildren of Uzbekistan win 14 medals at the International Mathematical Competition

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Members of Uzbekistan national team won 14 medals and 2 diplomas at the International Mathematical Competition (IMC 2019) in Durban (South Africa).
Rakhmatov Anvarjon, a student of 7-grade 1-specialized state secondary school of Karakul district, Bukhara region, won the gold medal of IMC 2019.
Norboev Jahongir, a student of the 10th grade of school No. 18 in Peshku district of Bukhara region, won the silver medal of the competition.
Olimjon Olimov, Eldor Neymatov, Tuymurod Kodirov, Bekzod Maksudov became the winners of bronze medals.
Also, the national team of Uzbekistan became the bronze prize-winner in team competitions in the solution of mathematical problems.
The International mathematical competition is held in two stages: individual and team competitions. In the individual competition, the participants have to solve 15 tasks, and team competitions – 10 tasks.
This year more than 500 participants from 41 countries of the world take part in competitions. Among the participants of IMC 2019 – South Korea, China, Singapore, USA, UK, Australia, Romania, Bulgaria, etc.
On the initiative of the Ministry of Public Education, the national team of Uzbekistan has been participating in IMC since 2014. During this time, our compatriots won 3 gold, 7 silver and 4 bronze medals IMC.
