Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On Tuesday, 16 July, a grand opening of the Consulate General of the Republic of Uzbekistan took place in Rostov-on-Don, in which the acting head of the city administration Alexey Logvinenko took part.
According to the press service of the governor of Rostov region, Vasily Golubev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan in the Russian Federation Botirjon Asadov cut the symbolic ribbon at the opening ceremony.
The consular district, which will cover the Consulate General in Rostov, includes subjects of the Southern and North Caucasus federal districts.
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan thanked the Russian side - the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, as well as the leadership of the Rostov region - for supporting the initiative of the Uzbek side to open the Consulate General in Rostov-on-Don.
Cooperation with the Republic of Uzbekistan is strategic. It should be “on the ground” - in municipalities and regions, people are interested in this, the Don governor believes.
- The opening of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Rostov is a concrete and verified step in the development of our good neighborly relations. In the Rostov region with the Uzbek side, long-term connections are with small, medium, large businesses. We are implementing a number of joint projects. I think that business has much broader interests, this potential needs to be used more. We hope that today's event will allow us to more actively promote the implementation of projects, - said Vasily Golubev.
