Uzbeks join Women’s Asian Cup fray

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan will field a team in next month’s AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2010 Qualification Round One tournament in Kuala Lumpur.
The Uzbeks will join Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives and Palestine in the round-robin tournament from 25 April to 3 May. Bangladesh were in the original line-up but have since withdrawn.
The top three will advance to the second round of qualifying, which features three groups of three teams at various venues.
From Round Two, the top team in each group will joined Asian champions DPR Korea, Korea Republic, Japan, China and Australia in the finals.
The Uzbeks’ first match is on 27 April against the Maldives.
