South Korean experience to accelerate the development of the pharmaceutical industry in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of Uzbekistan led by the Minister of Health of Uzbekistan Alisher Shadmanov is visiting South Korea.
The purpose of the visit is to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the development of the health care system and the pharmaceutical industry, according to the public relations department of the Ministry of Health.
During the visit, Alisher Shadmanov met with the Minister of Health and Social Welfare of the Republic of Korea, Pak Nyng Hu. During the meeting, the parties noted that the recent meeting of the heads of two states gave a big impetus to the development of relations between the countries. The Uzbek side also provided detailed information on the investment attractiveness of the pharmaceutical industry in our country, which creates favorable conditions for potential investors, in particular, the benefits and preferences offered to investors planning to set up production sites for the production of pharmaceutical products in the territories of the pharmaceutical free economic zones of our country.
In particular, investment projects already implemented in the field of healthcare and pharmaceuticals were discussed. Thus, it was said about the successful implementation in Uzbekistan of a project to create an Uzbek-Korean joint venture Listem-Fergana for the production of X-ray machines, as well as projects with Korean companies Dalim Biotech and Yuhan for organizing the production of antidiabetic and pharmaceuticals.
In addition, the delegation got acquainted with the experience of the Republic of Korea in the implementation of the DUR (Drug Use Record) labeling system for medicines and medical products, making it possible to track each product in the chain of sales from the manufacturer to the end user. They also discussed the implementation of the Korean experience of the E-Health health insurance and e-health system in Uzbekistan.
Following the talks, the ministers of the two countries signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of health. It was noted that this document will become the basis for strengthening cooperation in the development of the pharmaceutical industry and enhancing investment in this area.
A memorandum of understanding was also signed between the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan and the Association of Pharmaceutical and Biopharmaceutical Manufacturers of the Republic of Korea. This document is intended to attract South Korean pharmaceutical companies to establish production and research centers in Uzbekistan.
