Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting with official representatives of one of the leading US companies John Deere, specializing in the production of agricultural machinery, was held in the Uztekstilprom Association.
From the Uzbek side, the meeting was attended by the leadership of the Uztekstilprom Association and representatives of the republic's textile enterprises.
As previously reported, on 4 April, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyev signed a decree "On additional measures for the timely equipping of the agricultural sector with agricultural equipment." In particular, agricultural enterprises of Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, Surkhandarya, Syrdarya and Tashkent regions will be reimbursed 30% of the costs of services of cotton harvesting machines.
During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on the prospects of bilateral relations in the context of the textile sector reform being implemented in Uzbekistan and the development of cotton-textile production.
At the meeting, the US side noted that the cluster form of organization of cotton and textile production introduced in Uzbekistan to form market relations between farms and enterprises of the textile industry will further increase the production of raw cotton in the textile industry.
Following the meeting, Uztekstilprom Association and John Deere signed an agreement on the supply of modern agricultural equipment to Uzbekistan.
