Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- International Jazz Day is an event organized annually by UNESCO to mark “The growing international awareness of jazz as a force that promotes peace, unity, dialogue and broadening people-to-people contacts”.
And also, this day is one of the most important musical events in the world, and in particular in Uzbekistan. This year, the International Jazz Festival in Uzbekistan is held from April 14 to 30 for the fifth time.
This festival was organized by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the State Philharmonic of Uzbekistan, the UNESCO Office in Uzbekistan, the Ilkhom Theater / the Jazz Club Ilkhom, and this time added to the list of organizers: the Uzbekistan Foundation for the Development of Culture and Arts and the KI Agency advertising agency .
Within the framework of the current festival about 20 concerts of jazz performers from abroad and Uzbekistan will be held. In addition, master classes are held in music schools and colleges and jam sessions in Tashkent and other cities such as Bukhara, Kokand and Samarkand. I must say that traditionally the participants of the festival are a large number of jazz stars from different countries who come to Uzbekistan not only to show their skills and novelties, but also to see and talk with their colleagues.
Celebrities such as Barna Peli (Hungary), Abs (Czech Republic), Ivan Gunawan (Indonesia), Shefali Alvarez (India), Malcolm Braff and Claire Junenen (Switzerland), Efe Turumtau and Nikola Zaritz (Turkey), Arun Ghosh (United Kingdom), Omri More and Berihun Abate (Israel), Lone (France) are among the participants of the current year.
Festival events take place almost every day at various venues and scenes throughout the city. The main concert halls are the State Conservatory of Uzbekistan, the Palace of Arts "Turkistan", the Ilkhom Theater, the Youth Theater of Uzbekistan, and some of the festival events take place at the RSMAL. V. A. Ouspensky and Broadway. Therefore, all the guests of the festival, regardless of musical preferences, can find something suitable to enjoy the live sound of jazz.
The program of the festival and information about tickets and invitations will be posted on the websites and official Facebook pages of the festival organizers, UNESCO and the participating embassies, as well as in the media.
