Alternative textbooks to be created for schools

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Government resolution approved the Regulation on creation and use of alternative textbooks for secondary schools, the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan said in a statement.
In accordance with the Regulations, the requirements for alternative textbooks will be developed by the Ministry of Public Education.
The list of textbooks and teaching aids created and recommended by the Ministry for the next academic years, as well as the requirements for them, will be published in the media and on the official website of the Ministry one year in advance.
Creative teams who have expressed a desire to take part in the preparation of these textbooks and educational literature should submit proposals to the working body of the Coordination Council of the Republican Educational Center.
The created textbooks and teaching aids are submitted to the Working Body in the form of original layouts.
Original mock-ups are examined by an expert group set up under the ministry within two months.
The most highly appreciated original mock-ups are submitted by the working body to obtain permission for testing at the Coordination Council within a week. The list of schools where tests will be conducted is approved by the Coordination Council within a week.
The working body summarizes the results of the test and discussion of the general public of its results within one month and submits textbooks and educational literature to the Coordination Council for approval.
Alternative textbooks that have gained more than 95% are recommended for use in schools on a voluntary basis, along with textbooks created on a rental basis.
