Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Pre-School Education discussed the possibility of creating a new children’s television channel and producing modern educational media content in cooperation with the well-known Korean broadcasting company EBS.
A meeting with representatives of EBS (Korea Education Broadcasting System, Republic of Korea) educational television and radio company was held at the Ministry of Preschool Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, the prospects for creation of a children’s educational channel, the development of modern educational media content for preschoolers, as well as the training of qualified media professionals were discussed.
The parties also discussed the possibility of creating a multimedia data center for storing educational programs and assisting the Korean side in internships for Ministry of Pre-School Education specialists at enterprises of the Educational Broadcasting System of Korea.
According to Elena Ten, the head of the main department of the Ministry of Pre-School Education, EBS experts have high qualifications, which is why the agency is interested in their experience in creating not so much entertainment content, but learning in an interactive form.
Elena Ten said: “We are not interested in exclusively entertainment content and do not encourage children to sit all day at the TV. However, it cannot be denied that there are preschoolers who do not attend preschool educational institutions, the TV channel will help them to receive high-quality content at home, and for those children who go to preschool, this may be an additional tool for development”
“The cooperation of the Ministry of Preschool Education was discussed in the framework of Presidential Decree No. 3955 of September 30, which includes the creation of an innovative center for information and educational technologies, EBS representatives can help us create this modern center in Uzbekistan,” she said.
