Uzbekistan, Bahrain discuss expanding bilateral relations in political, economic, tourism and other spheres

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 February, Manama city hosted inter-MFA consultations on contractual and legal issues. The current state and prospects for expanding bilateral relations in political, economic, tourism and other spheres were discussed at the meeting, the Uzbek Foreign Ministry said.
The Director of Organizations, Ambassador Tawfeeq Ahmed Al-Mansoor, and Director of Afro-Asian Affairs Directorate Muna Abbas Mahmood Radhi headed the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Representatives of Bahrain tourism and exhibitions authority also attended the event.
During the consultations, the parties clarified the legal status of the signed agreements and agreed to intensify activities of relevant agencies and organizations of their countries for ensuring their effective implementation.
The sides discussed issues of cooperation within the UN and other international organizations, exchanged information on participation of the two countries in the international law-making process (codification and progressive development of norms of the international law).
The delegation of Uzbekistan held negotiations with representatives of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Representatives of the Chamber, which unites more than 83 thousand business entities, expressed interest in establishing direct contacts with representatives of business circles of Uzbekistan for possible participation in promising investment projects in the field of hotel business, processing and export of agricultural products.
